Large asteroid narrowly passed earth this afternoon

1944 PC1 which is a 1km long asteroid safely passed earth at midday today, passing 5 times further than the moon is from earth. Next time we will come this close to this asteroid will be in another 200 years.
According to NASA, it flew past at speeds of 45,000mph at a distance of 1.2million miles from earth.

It has been listed as no threat to humans, but it causes some great views.
