NASA's Mars lander returning to duty after threatening dust storm

NASA's Mars lander 'InSight lander' has emerged from safe mode and can return to studying beneath the surface of the red planet.

The lander which is solar powered had to enter safe mode during the storm to conserve power.

InSight which landed in 2018 with its 2 solar panels has to do this during storms as it cannot generate power during these storms.

Unfortunately the lander may be forced to shut down as soon as April 2022 due to there being dust stuck on the solar panels after around 4 years in action.
